Thread, needles, rare earth magnets
This is the first in a series of magnet, needle, and thread drawings. Threads are affixed to one wall with eyehooks. The eyehooks delineate a drawing: I have drawn circles, ellipses, tornadoes, feet, constellations, and wavelengths. Needles are tied to the thread, and then strung to an opposite or adjoining wall where rare earth magnets are fixed to the wall, also arranged in a drawn pattern. The thread length is calibrated so that the needles do not touch the magnets, but are held in the magnetic field. Consequently, the threads float in space.
